Carbon Calculator for New Zealand Agriculture and Horticulture
Enter the area of farm in hectares and select the type of farm
|
This Farm Carbon Calculator will estimate the amount of greenhouse gasses produced by farming activities (in units of C02eq) using Life Cycle Assessment. Fill in the hectare value and select the type of farm, then fill in the other tabs as appropriate. See the Information Sheet (PDF) for more details on the type of data and calculations used.
|
Enter the average number of head of each type of stock on the farm last year
The IPCC methodology and NZ GHG Inventory (July 2007) default values have been used (with some modifications to dairy) to calculate stock and field greenhouse gas emissions. Please note these are NZ averages and use broad stock classes. The most accurate stock emissions will be determined using OVERSEER, and these can be included above.
Enter the total annual production and percentage share of revenue
Enter the annual amount used or annual costs (excluding personal use)
(Change the default values if your costs are different)
Enter the annual number of hectares or number of hours for each activity
Enter the annual amount of fertiliser applied and feed purchased
